  • How can I help my community?

Posted by admin on September 29th, 2009 and filed under livelihoods | 2 Comments »

I live in a poor community in the Philippines. I want to organize new / unique / innovative ways of helping the kids and the parents in my community.
    These are their needs:
educational , social, health, religion (Roman Catholic), livelihood.

You could contact the U.S. Peace Corps and ask them to send a volunteer to your community.

I think it is wonderful that you are trying to help your community and although I do not have much experience in organizing community efforts I do believe that with outside help you will be able to do wonders.. Possibly grants like suggested before could work to your advantage by providing the necessary funds to possibly run a family clinic as well as possibly a place for all to get together and share good times such as a meeting place. This would be a great place to offer fun activities for children as well as parenting groups for the adults and a time for them to have a social time as well!

      Good Luck…
